These draft terms outline the intended purchase and licence model forGoodtakes. They are not final terms. The legal operator, contact details, effective date, governing law and jurisdiction must be confirmed and reviewed before launch.
The app and your work
Goodtakes is a Mac app for reviewing footage, choosing moments, making edits and exporting videos or clips. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions to use the footage and other content you bring into the app or share with an agent.
Review your edits and export settings before proceeding. Keep backups of important media. Exporting trimmed clips into Apple Photos changes the originals in place rather than making duplicate originals; Photos provides Revert to Original. Other export choices can write files to folders.
The trial
The trial lasts 14 days from first launch, with all features available. After the trial, a valid licence is required to export videos and clips. Other project and editing features remain available.
Licences and activations
A standard licence can be active on up to 3 Macs at once. Deactivating a Mac frees an activation. You must keep your licence key private and must not use it to bypass the activation limit or otherwise abuse the licensing service.
Initial activation requires an internet connection. The app keeps a signed licence token locally and refreshes it periodically when online. A subscription licence can continue offline until its saved validity period ends. A lifetime licence has no expiry date.
Subscriptions and lifetime purchases
Monthly and yearly plans are recurring subscriptions. A subscription licence remains valid while the subscription is active, including a 7 day grace period. If a subscription is cancelled, its licence remains valid through the paid period and applicable grace period.
A lifetime plan is one payment for a licence that remains valid permanently. It is not a subscription. These draft terms do not define a promise of perpetual hosting, support or future product development; those commitments must be resolved explicitly before launch.
Prices are shown in USD on the pricing page. Applicable taxes and the final total are presented at checkout. Stripe processes payments.
Cancellations, refunds and consumer rights
The final terms must define the subscription cancellation process, renewal notices, refunds, withdrawal rights and any digital-content consent required in the customer’s jurisdiction. No refund period or exclusion is established by this draft. Mandatory consumer rights must not be limited by the final terms.
Agents and third-party services
You may connect an MCP-compatible agent. You choose the provider and permissions, and are responsible for reviewing its suggestions. Agent services are subject to their providers’ terms. Goodtakesexports happen in the app, not through the MCP tools.
Apple Photos, macOS, payment processing and other third-party services are subject to their respective terms. See the draft privacy policy for the intended handling of account and licence information.
Before these terms are final
Legal review must establish the contracting entity, eligibility requirements, licence grant and restrictions, support commitments, update policy, suspension and revocation rules, warranties, proportionate liability limitations, dispute process and notice of changes.
These sections must be completed for the intended markets before customers are asked to accept the terms.
